Refund and cancellation policy
How cancellation and refunds work on JURIST.
Last updated: March 2026
1. Subscription model
JURIST operates on a prepaid subscription model. All fees are charged in advance. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
2. How to cancel
You may cancel your subscription at any time by:
- Navigating to Settings > Subscription > Cancel within the Platform; or
- Sending a written cancellation request to admin@juristpro.ai.
Cancellation requests via email will be acknowledged within two (2) business days.
3. Effect of cancellation
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current Subscription Period. You retain full access until that date.
Upon the effective date:
- Your access to the Platform will cease.
- You will have thirty (30) days to request a data export (query history, saved research, account information).
- After the export window, your data will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- A cancellation confirmation email will be sent to you.
4. Refund policy
General rule
No pro-rata refunds are provided for cancellation during an active Subscription Period. You retain access for the remainder of the period you have paid for.
Exceptions
Caribbean JURIST may, at its sole discretion, issue a refund in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate charge: If you are charged twice for the same period due to a billing error, the duplicate will be refunded in full.
- Billing error: If you are charged an incorrect amount, the difference will be corrected and any overcharge refunded.
- First 48 hours: If you subscribe for the first time and request cancellation within forty-eight (48) hours of your initial payment, and you have used fewer than five (5) queries, a full refund will be issued. First-time subscriptions only.
- Service unavailability: If the Platform experiences prolonged downtime materially exceeding SLA commitments, a proportionate refund may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
No refund for termination for cause
If your Account is terminated for violation of the Terms of Use or Acceptable Use Policy, no refund will be issued.
5. How refunds are processed
Approved refunds are processed through Stripe and credited to the original payment method within five (5) to ten (10) business days.
6. Annual subscriptions
If you cancel an annual subscription mid-year, you retain access until the end of the annual period. No pro-rata refund is provided. The 48-hour first-time subscriber exception applies equally.
7. Tier changes
- Upgrading: The price difference is charged pro-rata for the remainder of the current period. Takes effect immediately.
- Downgrading: Takes effect at the start of the next Subscription Period. No refund or credit for the current period.
8. Free trials
If JURIST offers a free trial, no payment is required during the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription automatically converts to a paid plan. A reminder email is sent at least three (3) days before the trial expires.
9. Contact
For cancellation or refund requests, contact us at admin@juristpro.ai. Response time: within two (2) business days.
